What is Lunette Menstrual Cup
The Lunette Menstrual Cup is a new way to deal with the discomfort and pains of periods every month using tampons and pads. Lunette have created a comfortable and cheaper way to manage intimate hygiene and guide all ages of females through a time that can be discomforting and somewhat scary for some. Lunette have created different models to cater for women ranging from pre-intercourse to post-birth. The cup itself is barely noticeable due to its extreme comfort and flush fitting letting you get on with whatever activities you want whether it be running to swimming.
Lunette have made sure they have catered for all ages and anatomies by making sure that the silicon cup can fit all women by designing different models specifically for certain flow types, post-birth & pre-intercourse situations, more is explained in more detail below. The cup also comes in a little discreet pouch to store so you can effortlessly fit it into your handbag so you have it for all occasions.
How do I use Lunette Menstrual Cup
1. Wash
Hygiene is always important with intimate care so we recommend you wash your hands with a mild, un-perfumed soap with lukewarm water. When using Lunette Menstrual Cup for the first time you can use a water-based lubricant to aid insertion.
2. Fold
Now fold the Lunette Cup in to itself as shown in the picture. Simply squeeze the cup so its flat and then fold it so it is in half so that the rim of the cup makes a ‘C’ shape as shown in the illustration.
3. Hold
Slowly insert the Lunette Menstrual Cup in its folded position by guiding it rim-first into the vagina making sure it is comfortably in place and inserted to ensure no leaks.
4. Insert
The Lunette can be inserted any way you want – standing up, sitting down or squatting. During the first insertions, you will learn your anatomy and positioning will get better with time but one thing is for certain is comfort will never be lost. Unlike a tampon the cup is positioned just below the pelvic bone and to avoid leaks always give the cup a twist to ensure that it has opened properly.
5. Remove
The first step is to wash your hands with an un-perfumed soap in clean water and start to relax your pelvic muscles. Start by breaking the seal by squeezing the bottom part of the menstrual cup until a small suction feeling occurs that you can feel or hear. As soon as you hear this sounds start to gentle wriggle the cup out going from side to side making sure you pull down with the cup facing up. Note: Do not pull out by the tab alone, make sure you have a hold of the cup. Once done, tip the contents into the lavatory.
6. Rinse and Re-use
Once the Lunette cup has been removed wash it with cold water to ensure that the menstrual blood does not stain or cause any odours. Once this is done wash the cup with warm water and perfume free soap. If water isn’t available wipe with toilet paper and give it a thorough wash when applicable.
7. Care
Lunette Menstrual Cup will last for years if cared for properly. When your period is over wash Lunette carefully and store in its hygienic satin bag provided. Lunette should be cleaned always before and after your cycle and after emptying the contents.
